Sounding Iceland is a series of visual scores developed in 2017, whilst I was undertaking my research placement at The Living Art Museum in Reykjavik. These visual non-linear notations depict my experience of exploring, being in and listening to Icelandic landscapes. As a form of a diary, the scores were composed for an improvised play and playback using field recorders, to be utilised and experimented with in any sonic environment. They invite explorers, performers, composers and sound makers to expand their listening and use their sonic imagination to make the inaudible audible. The scores are open to interpretation, trial, error, but most importantly, play.
The scores are available for exhibition and unique copies can be purchased upon request. Please note that each score varies in size. For more information, contact sandra @ unmute.co.uk.
